Mahakaleshwar Temple Timings and Types of Darshan
Mahakaleshwar Temple is open 4 AM to 11 PM every day. The Shiva Lingam here is Swayambhu, meaning it appeared on its own rather than being installed, and it faces south, which is why it is called Dakshinamukhi. There is more than one way to take darshan, and the one you choose decides how early you need to arrive and what you pay.
